View this post on Instagram You can actually save yourself a lot of time and money if you circuit bend the Omnichord by playing it with your hands instead of paying hundreds of €€€$$$ for an extensive hardware modding. Here’s a sound example. The Cologne experimental electronica musician Joker Nies published a how-to already many years ago, but unfortunately the link on his webpage is dead. However, I just found the pages via the still amazing Internet Archive wayback machine – link in bio. Images 1 and 2 show my Omnichord OM-27, pics 3 and 4 by Joker Nies, showing the main body contact areas. In my example I use the fingers of my right hand to subtly manipulate the snare and claves resonance as well as the rhythm volume, while my left hand plays the chords with the index finger and my thumb pressing the lower strumbar sound generation area (the Omnichord being jacked up and turned upside down). Only use batteries when doing this – never the power adapter!
